How to make a photo collage grid
A grid collage is a tidy way to show several photos at once. In Emaki Studio you drop a grid onto the canvas, fill each cell with a picture, and export the result. Here is how.
- 1. Add a grid to the canvas Insert a photo grid and choose how many rows and columns you want. Each cell starts as a grey placeholder ready for a photo.
- 2. Link a photo into each cell Drag an image onto a cell to link it, or double-click a cell to pick a picture. Photos are cover-fitted so they fill the cell without stretching.
- 3. Resize and arrange the grid Stretch the grid to the size you want - cells re-fit their photos so nothing deforms. Move the whole grid around the canvas to leave room for a title.
- 4. Add a background or caption Set a solid colour, gradient or image background behind the grid, and add text for a heading if you want one.
- 5. Export the collage Open Export and download the frame as a single image. Everything is rendered locally in your browser.

- Can I use different numbers of photos?
- Yes. Choose the rows and columns to match how many photos you have - a 2x2 for four photos, 3x3 for nine, and so on. Empty cells stay as placeholders until you fill them.
- Will my photos be cropped?
- Each photo is cover-fitted to its cell, so it fills the space and is cropped to fit rather than stretched. You can reposition a photo within its cell.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Building and exporting a grid collage is free and runs entirely in your browser with no account.
