Chrome, Edge and Safari, which covers iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. Video decoding uses a browser feature Firefox does not currently provide, so Video Edit tells you rather than failing quietly there. Everything else in the app works in Firefox.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no server holding your work. Projects are saved as a file on your device when you want to keep one.

Is my footage uploaded?

No. Decoding, editing and re-encoding all happen in your browser, so the video never leaves your device - which is also why there is no upload wait however large the file is.

How long a video can I edit on a phone?

The finished file is assembled in memory before it saves, so there is a real ceiling: around 90 seconds on a phone or tablet and around five minutes on a desktop. The tool tells you when a timeline is past it, and trimming brings it back under.

Is there a watermark?

No. The exported MP4 carries no watermark and no branding, on every tier.

How to edit a video without installing anything

Most video editing asks you to commit before you start: install an app, make an account, or upload your footage and wait. Emaki Studio Video Edit is a web page. Open it on a phone, a tablet or a computer and the whole editor is there - your footage is read off your device and never uploaded. Here is how it works, and where the real limits are.

1. Open Video Edit on whatever device you have It is a web page, so there is nothing to install and no account to make. The same editor runs on iPhone and iPad, on Android, and on Windows, Mac and Linux. If you want it to open like an app, add it to your home screen.
2. Add your clips straight from the device Add MP4 or MOV files - what phones and most cameras record. They are read from your device as you work, not sent anywhere, so a long recording starts immediately instead of waiting on an upload.
3. Cut it together Trim each clip at its ends, split one in two, freeze a frame, and drag the pieces into order. Add a title, a shape or a piece of music. All of it is free, at the full length budget and with no watermark on the result.
4. Pick the shape it is going out in Match the first clip, or choose 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 1:1 for feed, or 16:9 for YouTube. Every output size is free - the shape you need is not a paid feature.
5. Export and keep it Export an MP4. On a phone the share sheet opens so you can save it straight to Photos; on a computer it downloads. Nothing was uploaded at any point, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
